Danica McKellar celebrated a special milestone this past Palm Sunday. The “Wonder Years” star shared that this past Palm Sunday marks two years of being a Christian, with thanks to fellow actress Candace Cameron Bure for inviting her to church two years ago. “Easter week for me, this year marks two years of becoming a believer,” the 49-year-old said in an interview with Fox News. “That’s when Candace Cameron Bure brought me into her church on Palm Sunday, and we saw the passion play there at Shepherd Church.”<\/p>\n

\u201cIt changed my life,\u201d she said of her church experience. \u201cI don\u2019t know what happened. Some people say the Holy Spirit came to me. All I know is that I knew I became a believer, and it was the most wonderful, transformative moment\u2026 I was flooded with this knowingness, and I have such peace from that still after two years, and I\u2019m so grateful for it,\u201d she added. \u201cEverything I always thought about there being some higher power and wanting to do the right thing, just because it\u2019s the right thing, when no one\u2019s watching, why that matters, and it all just came into focus,\u201d she said of finding her faith. \u201cAnd I feel so blessed.\u201d <\/span>McKellar shared how the Easter season is full of messages of redemption and rebirth. “And I feel that,” she explained. “My wish for the world is that they would feel that as well and be open to God’s love because it’s transformative, and it’s there for everyone.”<\/p>\n

Growing up, McKellar opened up about how she only celebrated the “secular side” of Easter. “It was the Easter bunny and egg hunts and coloring eggs,” she explained. “I used to believe in the Easter bunny, so it was a lot of fun. It was a big family celebration, like a lot of holidays. And I’m really grateful to have a family who always made that effort for everyone to come together.” This year, the actress celebrated Easter with her family, including her son, Draco, in San Diego. “We will go to Easter church services, and we will do an egg hunt,” she told Fox News. “We’ll do all the things. We celebrate it all.” McKellar opened up about sharing her faith with her son, who she welcomed in 2010 with her ex-husband Mike Verta. “I share with Draco everything I can. Again, this is new for me. It’s new for him.
