Earlier this morning, President Donald Trump was speaking to a crowd of supporters at the White House when he put Nancy Pelosi’s faith into question.<\/p>\n
Trump was speaking to his impeachment acquittal when he launched an attack on Pelosi and Adam Schiff, calling them both terrible people. He continued by scoffing at the claim that Pelosi prays for him, saying that he actually doesn’t believe she prays at all.<\/p>\n
Before his statement, Trump told the crowd that he sat close to Pelosi during that morning’s National Prayer Breakfast in Washington D.C. and proudly spoke badly of her without regret. He continued by praising the crowd for all their continued support.<\/p>\n
At the prayer breakfast, Trump declared that Pelosi and his other political rivals had inappropriately invoked “their faith as justification” for calls to remove him from office.<\/p>\n
“As everybody knows, my family, our great country and your president have been put through a terrible ordeal by some very dishonest and corrupt people,” Trump said at the outset of his speech. “They have done everything possible to destroy us, and by so doing, very badly hurt our nation. They know what they are doing is wrong, but they put themselves far ahead of our great country.”<\/p>\n
“I don’t like people who use their faith as justification for doing what they know is wrong,” Trump added. “Nor do I like people who say, ‘I pray for you’ when they know that that’s not so. So many people have been hurt, and we can’t let that go on. And I’ll be discussing that a little bit later at the White House.”<\/p>\n
Pelosi struck back at the president during a news conference in the Capitol, telling reporters Thursday morning that she found his statements to be “so completely inappropriate”.<\/p>\n
