Atheists are not happy about it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey have a better chance of me waking up thin tomorrow morning than they do of me taking that motto off our cars,\u201d Sheriff Wayne Ivey of the Brevard County Sheriff\u2019s office told Fox News.<\/p>\n<p>The country recently released a new fleet of patrol cars that included an American flag on the side and the phrase \u201cIn God We Trust\u201d which is also the national motto.<\/p>\n<p>The Freedom From Religion Foundation \u2013 a well-known coalition of atheists, agnostics and skeptics \u2013 took issue with this. They sent Ivey a letter pushing him to remove the stickers from the new vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>The FFRF said that the decals imply \u201ca religious test for employment.\u201d They also said that the stickers send non-religious citizens an \u201cappearance of bias.<\/p>\n<p>Annie Laurie Gaylor, co-president of the group said, \u201cSpending taxpayer time placing religious messages on patrol cars is beyond the scope of secular government.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite their complaints, Ivey told Fox News the decals are staying.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI personally believe that our country is at a tipping point,\u201d he said, \u201cand if we, as strong patriotic Americans, don\u2019t stand for the principles of our great nation, we are going to lose the America we all know and love!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_cGfVgNVREI\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Florida sheriff has rejected requests from an atheist group to remove \u201cIn God We Trust\u201d decals from the county\u2019s patrol cars.
