Jessica Simpson called on a higher power and encouraged her followers to listen to God. In an Instagram post, the singer and author wrote, \u201cI know people are struggling with fear, anxiety, and also with sorrowful loss. My faith in God, knowing that all things are possible with Him, has been my strength when I feel overwhelmed. Psalm 34 says, \u2018The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Simpson told her 5.3 million Instagram followers she had \u201cmany prayerful moments.\u201d She continued, \u201cIt\u2019s in these moments I feel true peace and pure connection to hope. I urge everyone to cause yourself to let go, be silent with listening ears toward God. \u2018Lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path.\u2019 Proverbs 3:6.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cWith You\u201d singer, whose father,\u00a0Joe Simpson, was once a Baptist minister, ended her post by calling on fans to join her \u201cin praying for the leaders around the world including our president, governors, mayors, politicians, scientists, doctors, and all healthcare workers.\u201d<\/p>\n

She wrote that prayer is \u201cnot political\u201d but \u201cnecessary,\u201d adding, \u201cWe are all in this together, so we must stand united. I encourage each and every one of you to stay home, stay strong, and stay on bended knee.\u201d It\u2019s no secret that Hollywood hasn\u2019t always been kind to Jessica Simpson. The singer, who rose to fame during the late 90s and early 2000s pop craze, was only 17 and a preacher\u2019s daughter trying to figure out where she fits in.<\/p>\n
