Christians are raising the alarm over the growing presence of satanic activity in America. Speaking with <\/span>Fox News Digital<\/span><\/a>, Dave Kubal, CEO of\u00a0<\/span>Intercessors for America<\/span><\/a>, warned against Boston\u2019s upcoming SatanCon 2023, scheduled to take place from April 28-30. Marking the Satanic Temple\u2019s 10th anniversary, the event is being boasted as the \u201clargest satanic gathering in history.\u201d Kubal warned that the group is bringing demonic forces into America. This year\u2019s theme will be \u201cHexennacht in Boston\u201d or \u201cWitches\u2019 Night.\u201d The Satanic Temple has dismissed accusations of witchcraft, maintaining it is a non-spiritual organization. \u201cIt is hard to respond to accusations of \u2018tapping into demonic power\u2019 in the same way that it is hard to respond to accusations of having \u2018cooties\u2019 without implicitly validating the mindset of a 3-year-old,\u201d the group said in response to criticisms.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The group had previously received criticism from outraged parents in Virginia when it proposed starting an \u201c<\/span>After School Satan Club<\/span><\/a>\u201d at B.M. Williams Primary School in Chesapeake, VA. Speaking with Jesse Waters on Fox News, Lucian Greaves, co-founder of the Satanic Temple, defended the club, saying, \u201cObviously, we don\u2019t view Satan as evil, and it really doesn\u2019t matter to us what your mythology is surrounding Satan.\u201d He also stated that the group\u2019s aim was not conversion but to teach children to think for themselves. When pressed by Waters to describe a tenet of satanism, Greaves said, \u201cOne should strive to act with compassion and empathy to all creatures within reason.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0Penny Lane\u2019s 2019 documentary, <\/span>Hail Satan?<\/span><\/em><\/a>, documented the origins of the Satanic Temple. The film noted the Satanic Temple\u2019s \u201cperformative\u201d nature in repurposing Christian symbols against the religious right. One particularly jarring \u201cperformance\u201d from the group was when the group faced off against pro-life protesters protesting at Michigan Planned Parenthoods. Dressed as babies in grotesque masks and leather bondage-style outfits, protesters from the Satanic Temple taunted pro-life protesters as a mock priest blessed the \u201cBDSM babies\u2019\u201d performance.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Satanic Temple and the issue of abortion have often gone hand in hand, with the Temple protesting the overturn of <\/span>Roe v. Wade<\/span><\/a>. The Temple recently\u00a0<\/span>announced<\/span><\/a>\u00a0the launching of the\u00a0<\/span>Samuel Alito\u2019s Mom\u2019s Abortion Clinic<\/span><\/a>. Satanic Temple co-founder Malcom Jarry said along with the announcement, \u201cIn 1950, Samuel Alito\u2019s mother did not have options, and look what happened.\u201d Alito is a Catholic judge on the Supreme Court who voted along with four other judges to overturn Roe v. Wade. Alito wrote the majority opinion on the judges\u2019 decision.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the end of January, a New York City courthouse unveiled a monument in honor of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, which some are labeling an \u201c<\/span>idol.<\/span><\/a>\u201d The statue has been compared to a\u00a0<\/span>Baphomet<\/span><\/a>, a goat-man hybrid typically associated with the esoteric and demonic. \u201cThis is the same city that just tore down a statue of Teddy Roosevelt because it was too \u2018controversial,\u2019 but a satanic symbol to glorify the murder of a child in the womb is not?\u201d decried Penny Nance, CEO of Concerned Women for America. \u201cNo wonder New Yorkers are leaving in droves.
