Pastor Greg Laurie, the senior pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship in California, addressed those who are concerned the COVID-19 vaccine might be \u201cthe mark of the beast.\u201d<\/p>\n
Laurie did his best to put any spiritual concerns his congregants had to rest with a recent sermon on the book of Revelation. He also shared the message again in a video clip shared on Twitter, explaining why he is confident the vaccine isn\u2019t \u201cthe mark of the beast.\u201d<\/p>\n
The main passage in the Bible that references the mark of the beast is Revelation 13:15-18. The passage says, \u201cAnd it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast so that the image of the beast might even speak and might cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAlso it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name. This calls for wisdom: let the one who has understanding calculate the number of the beast for it is the number of a man, and his number is 666.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen people take the actual mark of the beast, which, of course, is 666, they will know they\u2019re taking it, because you will have to pledge allegiance to the antichrist,\u201d Laurie said. \u201cSo there can\u2019t be a mark without an antichrist. And the antichrist cannot be revealed until Jesus Christ returns for His church and catches us up to heaven.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cSo when you take the mark \u2013 and I\u2019m talking to someone maybe in the future \u2013 if you were to take the mark, you would know you\u2019re taking the mark,\u201d Laurie added. \u201cThe Bible says an angel will fly through the heavens saying, \u2018Don\u2019t take the mark of the beast.\u2019 So, if you take it, you\u2019ll know you\u2019re taking it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Laurie predicts the mark will be very popular. All the celebrities will talk about it on social media, he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI got the mark. What about you? Come on. It\u2019s cool. Do it,\u201d Laurie said. He cautions that we are not there yet and shouldn\u2019t be in fear around this.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo don\u2019t spend your time worrying about if you\u2019ve taken the mark or who is the antichrist is. It\u2019s not revealed yet. Focus on Jesus Christ and following Him.\u201d<\/p>\n
Laurie also said that it doesn\u2019t make sense to figure out what the mark of the beast and will be.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe mark of the beast is future, not past or even present \u2013 yet,\u201d Laurie said. \u201cThe mark is a visible, literal brand of sorts. The mark will be given as a sign of devotion to the antichrist and as a passport to commerce. And here\u2019s the thing: you\u2019ll know it when you\u2019re getting it.\u201d
