The daughter of Franklin Graham and granddaughter of the late evangelical Billy Graham, Cissie Graham Lynch, spoke this week ad the 2020 Republican National Convention. She spoke candidly about faith and encouraged every Christian to support Trump.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs Americans, we know that the first line of the First Amendment protects our freedom of religion. But what we often forget the actual words are’free exercise’ of religion. That means living out our faith in our daily lives — in our schools, at our jobs, and yes, even in the public square. Our Founders did not envision a quiet, hidden faith. They fought to ensure that voices of faith were always welcomed, not silenced. Not bullied,\u201d Graham Lynch said.<\/p>\n
Cissie believes that these freedoms were silenced by the Obama-Biden Administration, and went as far to say that a Biden-Harris win would leave no room for people of faith.<\/p>\n
She argued that these freedoms have been protected by Trump and that he is a “fierce advocate” for religious people.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut then We the People elected Donald Trump, people of faith suddenly had a fierce advocate in the White House. He appointed judges who respect the First Amendment. He supported religious beliefs in court. He ensured religious ministries would not be forced to violate their beliefs. He withdrew the policies that placed our little girls at risk,\u201d Graham Lynch continued.<\/p>\n
She finished her speech by referencing her grandfather.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo in the words of my grandfather, Billy Graham: \u2018Let us stand for political freedom, moral freedom, religious freedom and the rights of all Americans … and let\u2019s never give in to those who would attempt to take it from us,\u2018\u201d Graham Lynch concluded her speech.<\/p>\n
Cissie serves on the Executive Evangelical Advisory Board of President Trump\u2019s Faith Advisory Council and encourages people to speak boldly on issues including life, family, and faith.<\/p>\n
