Churches across the country are finding bold and creative ways to share the message of Easter this year\u2014turning to everything from drone light shows to helicopter egg drops and even skydiving Easter bunnies to draw in their communities.<\/p>\n

In Salinas, California, Compass Church hosted what it called \u201cThe Great Helicopter Easter Egg Drop,\u201d an event that featured 100,000 Easter eggs along with games, food, and a skydiving bunny. \u201cThe sky diving bunny returns this year with double the excitement!\u201d the church announced ahead of the celebration.<\/p>\n

But beyond the spectacle, church leaders say the mission is deeply spiritual.<\/p>\n

Compass Church Pastor T.K. Anderson explained, \u201cThe Great Helicopter Easter Egg Drop is more than a celebration, it is our way of reaching out to our community with a message of hope in a world that often feels divided.\u201d He added that amid uncertainty, \u201cthere is one message powerful enough to bring people back together, the love of God revealed through Jesus Christ.\u201d<\/p>\n

That focus on connection and outreach is driving similar events nationwide. In Alabama, Cultivate Church hosted its own large-scale helicopter egg drop, inviting families to watch \u201cthousands of candy and toy-filled Easter eggs fall from a helicopter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lead team pastor Brandon Matthews said the heart behind the event is simple: \u201cOur goal is always the same. We want our community to know we want something for them, and nothing from them.\u201d He pointed to Jesus\u2019 words in John 13, saying, \u201cthe world would know that we belong to Jesus because of our love, and this event shows the love of Jesus, no strings attached.\u201d<\/p>\n

Matthews noted that hundreds of volunteers help serve around 20,000 people in their county each year through the free event. \u201cWe grill free food, free drinks, inflatables, a sensory area for special needs\u2026 It\u2019s a great day,\u201d he said. \u201cOur ultimate hope is that people see Jesus through us and that attracts them to Him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, in Tennessee, more than 20 churches came together for a unique Good Friday outreach featuring a coordinated drone show and fireworks display. According to an announcement from The River Community Church, \u201cHundreds of drones will illuminate the night sky in a breathtaking display\u2026 Through light and sound, the story of Jesus will come to life \u2014 celebrating hope, resurrection, and new life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lead pastor Steve Tiebout encouraged believers to use the moment as an opportunity for evangelism. \u201cBring people that never go to church. This will be something they\u2019ll want to see, and then you can have those conversations afterward to share with them what Christ has done in your life,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

While these events may look unconventional, they come at a time when churches are seeking fresh ways to engage a changing culture. With decades of declining attendance in the U.S., many ministries are rethinking how to reach people who might never walk through church doors on a typical Sunday.<\/p>\n

At the same time, there are signs of renewed interest in faith among younger generations. Recent research suggests Gen Z and millennial men, in particular, are showing increased openness to church and spiritual conversations.<\/p>\n

For many churches, these creative Easter events are about more than entertainment\u2014they are about opening doors. Whether it\u2019s a child racing to collect eggs or a family watching drones light up the sky, leaders hope those moments lead to something deeper.<\/p>\n
