Pastor Michael Todd of Transformation Church in Tulsa weighed in Sunday on a viral comedy skit<\/a> mocking prosperity preachers, calling the social media frenzy that followed a “weapon of mass distraction” aimed at pulling believers away from their calling. The skit, created by comedian Drew Desbordes \u2014 better known as Druski \u2014 quickly garnered massive online engagement. But what drew even more attention was an AI-generated image<\/a> showing Todd wearing the same outfit as Druski in the video, causing viewers to assume the satirical clip was aimed directly at him.<\/p>\n

“There was a video that came out this past week with a few hundred million views,” Todd told his congregation, noting that users immediately began linking him to the skit. “I watched the video. It was hilarious. It was funny\u2026 and then people started trying to say different things. And the thing that I was most taken aback by was how much frustration it created in people.”<\/p>\n

As online debates escalated, Todd said he stepped back from the chatter and noticed what it was doing to people spiritually. “I was literally watching people go back-and-forth\u2026 and call people names,” he said. “All this was an attack on people’s lives of distraction.”<\/p>\n

Todd said he hadn’t even seen the clip at first because he’s been spending less time online. When members of his team finally showed him the AI image, he joked, “I don’t even got a Rolls-Royce. I said, ‘I don’t remember being that big. Like I was big, but I don’t remember being that big.'”<\/p>\n

Rather than letting the moment get under his skin, Todd emphasized that he remained focused on his ministry work. “The reason that I cannot be moved off of my post [is] because [of] what God has called me to,” he said. “Representing God to the lost and found for transformation in Christ\u2026 that’s what I’m supposed to do.”<\/p>\n

He warned that many Christians lost more in the comment section this week than they realized. “Do you know how many people didn’t spend time with their kids this week, fighting with somebody they don’t know in the comments?” he asked. “It was a distraction.”<\/p>\n

Todd compared the temptation to chase controversy with Nehemiah’s refusal to abandon the wall he was building in the Old Testament. “The enemy is into releasing weapons of mass distraction,” he said. “The reason why some of y’all are so distracted is ’cause you have not found your great work yet.”<\/p>\n

As for his outlook on 2026, Todd encouraged believers to ignore diversions and put their hands to whatever God is calling them to build. “The goal for you this year is to find your great work,” he said. “And once you do, you won’t be moved.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
