Churchgoers at Rolling Hills Community Church in Franklin, Tennessee had a surprise guest leading their worship service on Sunday. Grammy-winning artist Carrie Underwood joined her home church, which has several satellite locations, to lead worship, singing \u201cGoodness of God\u201d by Bethel Music. The music icon\u2019s appearance on stage was a shock to many within the congregation, with one asking on social media \u201cDo we go to church with Carrie Underwood?\u201d Others posted Underwood\u2019s performance, calling it a \u201cblessing.\u201d \u201cUnexpected blessing this morning, the voice of an angel\u2026 I always get to church early to hear the music, and today was a little different!\u201d wrote Emily Woods<\/a> of Rolling Hills. The Bethel Music fan page also praised Underwood. \u201cThis was a sweet surprise, and it blessed me so much. It\u2019s amazing to hear her sing about God, as her passion is very evident. I love this @bethelmusic song!\u201d<\/p>\n

Underwood\u2019s faith began in childhood, where she grew up in a small Christian church in Oklahoma. She was a regular singer during worship services. She released her first Christian album, \u201cMy Savior\u201d in 2021. She and her husband, Mike Fisher, have both been open about their Christian faith. The pair have been married since 2010. Fisher spoke with Christian Today<\/em><\/a> in 2015 about his faith journey, saying for a long time he was just going through the motions. \u201cI was trying to pretend that everything was great. Still going to church, but maybe be hung over, not really into it, but putting up kind of a fa\u00e7ade,\u201d he said. Luke 9:23-25 brought his life into perspective. The verse says, \u201cIf you want to be a follower of Me, you have to put aside your own selfish desires, shoulder your cross daily, and follow Me. If you try to keep your life for yourself, you will lose it. If you give up your life for Me, you will find true life. What do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul in the process?\u201d Slowly, God helped to change him. \u201cIt wasn’t religion anymore. It was a real relationship.\u201d<\/p>\n
