Harris, as you know, is the author of “Letter to a Christian Nation<\/a>” and a harsh critic of those of any faith who believe that God has a direct hand in earthly events. He meditates and has elsewhere written some stimulating commentaries on meditation and Buddhism’s contributions in our understanding of consciousness. Sullivan is one of the best commentators on just about everything (he writes the DailyDish<\/a> blog for Time). He is receptive to Christian doctrine generally, finds value in it, and says he’s been helped by it. <\/p>\n
