Here’s another fun egg project.<\/a> This one involves blowing the contents of the egg out of its shell through a tiny hole (something older kids will think is cool when they’ve outgrown the thrills of egg dying). Then the hollow eggs are strung and hung from a decorative branch made to look like a tree. You can also hang your eggs from a tree in your front or back yard.<\/p>\n

Katherine Milhous wrote about a little girl discovering the tradition of hanging Easter eggs on trees in “The Egg Tree,”<\/a> a gorgeous picture book with Pennsylvania Dutch designs, published originally in 1971 and still in print. One reviewer calls it “a beautiful sleeper of a classic.” It’s best for kids five and up. <\/p>\n
