The former MLB catching great was a joy to watch on the baseball diamond, especially in helping the New York Mets win the 1986 World Series.<\/p>\n

“Kid” always gave his all and loved and respected the game he played.<\/p>\n

He wasn’t an “in your face” Christian, although there can be a time and place for that in my opinion, but he lived his life in clean-cut and decent manner. In short, he was a terrific role-model.<\/p>\n

I’ll leave you with what another “gamer”, ex-Cardinals and Mets first baseman Keith Hernandez, said … it was so beautiful and poignant.<\/p>\n
