Former NBA coach Phil Jackson is starring in a current clever TV ad for Audi, and he’s pretty good in it.

Jackson gives his two cents to a restaurant boss who is yelling at one of his underlings.

“You know, I have found that anger is the enemy of instruction,” the ex-Lakers and Bulls coach deadpans.

The restaurant boss, not recognizing Jax who also once played for the Knicks, pretty much blows off the advice in the humorous spot.

Jackson calmy says “you’re probably right” to the man before he gets his Audi from the valet “Todd”.

“Todd”, by the way, is a “bigger” commercial star than Phil Jackson with spots for Dunkin Donuts, Progressive, ESPN and others under his belt.

I have always been a little uncomfortable with Phil Jackson, as his Lakers almost always beat my Utah Jazz after his stint with the Bulls in which Chicago almost always topped my New York Knicks.

I do wonder though what kind of a “genius” he would be considered if he didn’t have four of the greatest players ever in Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant playing for him.

Is Phil Jackson a great coach?

No doubt.

But he’s no Red Auerbach, and you’d NEVER see the former Celtics coach in ads either.

What do you think, am I just being bitter?
