Billionaires give back<\/b>. Read Story.<\/a> Add Facebook co-founders  Mark Zuckerberg and Dustin Moskovitz to the list of billionaires who have signed the Giving Pledge, <\/i>a document put forth by Microsoft’s Bill Gates and Berkshire Hathaway’s Warren Buffet to encourage fellow billionaires to commit publicly to giving away most of their wealth the charitable causes. <\/p>\n

The list includes more than 50 names now, including AOL co-founder Steve Case, financier Carl Icahn, philanthropist Michael Milken, Oracle founder Larry Ellison, Star Wars <\/i>creator George Lucas and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.<\/p>\n

That’s, of course, fantastic. True giving, not government confiscation. Chances are these guys will be more wise and innovative about how to invest their own money to help others than the politicians would be.<\/p>\n

BTW, I finally caught up with The Social Network<\/a>, <\/i>screenwriter Aaron Sorkin’s film (based on the book The Accidental Billionaires<\/i> by Ben Mezrich) about the founding and rise of Facebook. I don’t know how accurate it is but, as drama, it’s fantastic. <\/p>\n

From my point of view, Zuckerberg didn’t come off as badly as I had come to expect. As portrayed by Jesse Eisenberg, he wasn’t exactly a Boy Scout in his business dealings but not really sinister either. If the movie has a real villain, its probably Justin Timberlake as Napster founder Sean Parker.
