He gives the perfect answer to the question of compassion (how can we separate a mother from her children).  Why encourage illegal immigration with our policies? We encourage people to put themselves and their children at risk crossing the border since we don&#8217;t enforce our own laws.  If we grant amnesty, we will be encouraging the next generation to do the same thing.
