Howard Thurman (1899 – April 10, 1981) was an influential American author<\/i><\/font>,<\/span><\/i><\/font><\/font> philosopher<\/i><\/font>, educator , <\/i><\/font>t<\/span><\/i><\/font><\/font>heologian and civil rights<\/i><\/font> leader. He was Dean of Theology and the chapels at <\/i><\/font>Howard University <\/span><\/i><\/font><\/font>and Boston University for more than two decades, wrote 20 books, and in 1944 helped found the first racially<\/i><\/font> integrated<\/i><\/font><\/font>, multicultural church in the United States.<\/i><\/font><\/font><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n
