No, this isn’t a Nike commercial, although that may be what comes to mind when you view\u00a0those words. Today while seeing a therapy client, he tells me that the wake up alarm on his phone has some mighty motivational words from actor Shia LeBeouf<\/a> on it. Caution … turn down your sound before you click on the link, since his coaching is REALLY high decibel.<\/p>\n

He screams “Just do it! Don’t let your dreams be dreams.”<\/p>\n

Many of us spend time fiddling around with our wishbones, rather than growing a backbone. We\u00a0muse about all of the things we would do if only the planets were aligned in our favor, if we were smarter, richer, thinner, more attractive, had a better education or a more fulfilled childhood. We stand on the edge of a diving board, waiting for the tide to turn before we take the leap. When I was a teenager, I missed a step on an escalator and slid down its length on one foot. Although I was frightened, I wasn’t injured. To this day, I still look for the step ‘with my name on it,’ before getting on it. It’s like that.<\/p>\n

What are some of your dreams that you had allowed to lie dormant for the right conditions to arrive?<\/p>\n

Mine were about being a full time writer and speaker, traveling to do both. \u00a0For years I seed planted for that goal, but on some level, I wasn’t quite ready to invest myself completely. I wasn’t ‘all in,’ and instead had a back door exit plan just in case. Now there is nothing wrong with having a Plan B, however, it is hard to have your foot on the accelerator and brake at the same time and expect to go anywhere. Once I trusted that my inner GPS would guide me in the right direction, I left the driving to the Divine and followed the road wherever it led. A year ago, I was offered a job that enables me to do what I love and get well compensated for it. In the past few months, I have taken the computer and written from New Orleans, Calistoga, as well as Hilton Head. The next destination is Negril, Jamaica and then in the fall; my portable office will be in Las Vegas and Phoenix. Have laptop, will travel.<\/p>\n

There was a time when I would have needed the blast me out of my seat high volume cheerleading to move me off of dead center. For awhile I moved unconsciously and sleep walked through my life. Amazing that I made it through.<\/p>\n

Glad I woke up and am living my dream out loud.<\/p>\n
