I awoke in the wee hours this morning, from a dream about my parents. Both passed in the last few years; my dad in 2008 and my mom in 2010. They were the dearest people in my life; teachers, guides, providers, cheerleaders and guardians of my heart and soul. Although I know that they are safe and sound in their new lives and that they watch over me, I still, when I admit it, miss them deeply and wish they were here in body to chat with. I do have the ability to have as often as I need to conversations with them about anything I want now, without fearing disappointing them. Not sure I ever did, but I thought I might, if the choices I made were not in alignment with their values that sometimes differed from mine.<\/p>\n
So, the dream ….\u00a0 my mom was standing in a deep hole with dirt being rained down on her until it covered her up to her neck. My dad and I were standing at the edge, in a panic. He reached down and with all of his strength, pulled her up to ground level. I then helped him remove the dirt until she was free of its encumbrance. I felt a sense of relief, even though I knew in the dream that they had died. It was like a resurrection of sorts.<\/p>\n
As I dialogued with the aspects of the dream, as I always do in order to see the patterns and use them as healing tools, what came to me was that perhaps it was about uncovering my own fears of being buried alive by dead beliefs and patterns. I saw that love provides the strength to accomplish amazing feats. I recognized that it is never too late to start again. I know that love heals. It also shows me that you never know the last day your inner clock will slow down and stop ticking. Because of that, I have been living out my bucket list that includes:<\/p>\n
Writing full time<\/p>\n
Taking pause to rest and rejuvenate<\/p>\n
Learning to say no when need be<\/p>\n
Learning to say yes~\u00a0 when I want to, when before, I would hesitate to accept opportunities<\/p>\n
Being more revealing with my writing<\/p>\n
Traveling- I will be going to New Orleans for Jazzfest for the first time this year<\/p>\n
Planning\u00a0a trip to Ireland and Hawaii- both have been on my list for years<\/p>\n
Re-decorating a room in my house to be my office\/haven<\/p>\n
Readying myself for meeting my Life Partner<\/p>\n
Going to the gym several times a week<\/p>\n
Getting a massage at least once a month<\/p>\n
Enjoying a pedicure and bright toes once a month<\/p>\n
Buying organic produce whenever I can<\/p>\n
Taking time to cook rather than throwing a quick meal together<\/p>\n
