Imagine, if you will that someone you love dearly is writing you the most exquisite creation that comes straight from the heart. As we age, sometimes, we come face to face with ‘shoulda, woulda’ coulda’ regrets; we look at our bodies and recall a time when they may have been leaner or more flexible and could do more things than they can now. One of my favorite lines comes from Pete Seeger: “How do I know that my youth is all spent? My get up and go has got up and went. But in spite of it all, I’m able to grin, when I think of the places my get up has been.”….but I digress…back to the letter. Pick out a beautiful card or a piece of stationary. Use a lovely color ink and let flow from your pen, words eloquent and affirming. What would send you swooning, have you feel cherished and treasured? You can write about your physical attributes…choose one thing you like when you gaze into the mirror. You can offer a tribute to your generous spirit, your open heart, your creativity, your gardening skills. Then, seal it in an envelope and give it to a friend to mail to you in a few weeks when you may have forgotten that you had written it. It will show up in your mailbox as a delightful surprise. Remember, guys, this is not just an exercise for the women. Men need affirmation too. <\/font><\/p>\n

So as we appreciate those we love and cherish, make sure to honor the lover in the mirror.<\/font><\/p>\n
