One of my favorite young wise men, Robby Novak (a.k.a Kid President) is at it again. He has created a new video called To A Person On Their First Day Here.\u00a0 <\/em>As always, he is filled with enthusiasm and high energy high fives, speaks in praise of corn dogs and the awesomeness of life and each of us who got born into it. He dedicates this darling diatribe to his new nephew miles. He is going to make an extraordinary uncle.<\/p>\n

I was particularly enticed by these lines:<\/p>\n

“Some days you’ll get ice cream. Some days you won’t.”\u00a0 There will be moments in your life in which the sweetness will be dripping down your chin and your fingers and you just want to lick them off, laughing. There will also be others in which you are hungry for more of what you desire and it just won’t seem to be showing up.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

“Give people high fives just for getting out of bed.”\u00a0 For some, it is a struggle to open their eyes and face a new day, while others leap out of bed, hitting the ground running as they make a difference in the world.\u00a0 Everyone makes a difference. Ask yourself if the world will be a better place because you got out of bed.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

“Treat everybody as if it is their birthday.”\u00a0 Celebrate them grandly! The truth is, every day is our birthday. We\u00a0can start each one afresh, since we get all sorts of do-overs, no matter how badly we may have messed up.\u00a0 A friend of mine refers to them as “mistakes of epic proportions,”\u00a0 that even the most intelligent and successful among us make at times.\u00a0 Robby says that “The biggest mess up is not forgiving when people mess up.” Forgive the person in the mirror first.<\/p>\n

“Take brain pictures.”\u00a0 There is so much beauty in the world and sometimes we miss it, so keep your inner camera lens focused clearly. Some of my most precious possessions are my memories. I take brain pictures that become grist for the mill for my writing, so you get to see the world through my camera lens.<\/p>\n

“You are made from love, to be love, to spread love. Love is always louder. Let your life be loud!”\u00a0 What if you knew that was who you are and why you are here?\u00a0 Let your life be a testimony to love.<\/p>\n

This past weekend, I had the joy of being in the presence of a new incarnation of love, named Dylaney Maeve Perry who was born a few weeks ago. She is the 5th child who came through two amazing parents; Jenny and Brian Perry. She is also surrounded by a big sister and three big brothers, all who adore her. It is unlikely that this little one will ever lack for attention or affection.<\/p>\n

What I wish for her is what all parents wish for their own children:<\/p>\n

That she have the freedom to express herself without need to stifle her creativity.<\/p>\n

That she use her voice to speak her heart.<\/p>\n

That she allow for abundance in all forms.<\/p>\n

That she call into her life, kindred spirits who bring out the best in her.<\/p>\n

That she know that she is beautiful both inside and out.<\/p>\n

That she cultivate wisdom and not just gather knowledge.<\/p>\n

That she have time to play and to work and that sometimes they feel like one in the same.<\/p>\n

That she dance and dream with ease.<\/p>\n

That she be strengthened by any challenges she may face.<\/p>\n

That she trust that the God of her understanding is always available to see her through.<\/p>\n
