My friend Sandy Levenson posted this image on her Facebook page just now\u00a0after seeing it at Neiman Marcus in King of Prussia, PA\u00a0and it jumped out at me as a wonderful way to do business. Sandy’s business model could easily fall into this category. I have long referred to her as “my favorite chiropractor with hands and heart of gold.” since she puts her whole self into all she does…kind of like the hokey pokey. Her office is warm and welcoming with soothing ahhhh music playing and lovely imagery on a video screen. Practice partners (a.k.a. patients) are greeted with a smile, like family of choice that we are. Photos of her adjusting folks, including Santa Claus are on the walls. Delight she does. It’s what I endeavor to do as well; offering exemplary service to those who work with me.<\/p>\n
What if you could accept that Spirit (or whatever name you use to refer to The God of Your Understanding) asks us that same question each day? How would you answer? I can go down my checklist and see that much of what I have in my life, already fits into that category, such as dear family and friends, a healthy body that allows me to do all kinds of fun things, an inquisitive mind, a creative Muse that feeds my need to write, a limitless imagination so that I am never bored and frequently fascinated, opportunities to stretch and grow and learn, financial abundance (the more I trust that it will be there, the more shows up), music (listening to Emmylou Harris, followed by James Taylor and Indigo Girls which gives you an idea of my musical taste), <\/em>leftover stirfry veggies, tofu and quinoa for breakfast…weird, I know, but I inherited that habit from my father who would sometime eat leftover pizza, justifying that it was ‘a cheese sandwich’. Later today I am going to the gym\u00a0 for my regular ‘playout’. I am revelling from an experience I had this weekend that I will be writing about later in the week; a retreat that is now another joy since it added to my life skills tool kit and gathered into my heart, new friends and strengthened existing connections, as well as re-introduced me to the woman in the mirror. What I know is that the more I express gratitude for the blessings I already have, the more space is created for additional delights to show up. There are times when I get bogged down in inconveniences and annoyances, but know they are fleeting and perhaps ways I test myself to see if I can be true to my beliefs and practices.<\/p>\n I imagine that God\/Goddess\/All That Is, gets a kick out of delighting us with Spring flowers, a gentle rain to help them grow, winged creatures who visit us with messages, like the robin redbreast who knocked on my window\u00a0a week or so ago and then on Friday before I left for the retreat, came\u00a0back and (I kid you\u00a0not), knocked on my back door over and over, \u00a0inspiration\u00a0that comes in the form of songs, books, movies, talented teachers who offer us their skills, healing hands and hearts.<\/p>\n I invite you to ask yourself how you can be delighted on this day?<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" My friend Sandy Levenson posted this image on her Facebook page just now\u00a0after seeing it at Neiman Marcus in King of Prussia, PA\u00a0and it jumped out at me as a wonderful way to do business.
