Ask yourself two questions: Where are you? The answer is only ‘here’. When is it? The response is only ‘now’ and yet we human beings spend so much time in the ‘there and then’ and ‘where and when’ that we miss many precious moments. Richard A. Singer, Award Winning Author of Your Daily Walk with the Great Minds offers an opportunity to change that mix in his upcoming July birthed book entitled Now: Embracing The Present Moment. A text of monumental proportion, it offers reflections from writers, on the subject of living in the ever timeless ‘time’. I’m honored to be one of those whose words are contained within its pages. My chapter is called: Losing My Mind To Come To My Senses.

Rick is a scholar, who has studied the world’s wisdom traditions, as well as psychology and then pours the concepts out on paper for the reader to scoop up and savor.

The book is offered in loving tribute to Rick’s nephew Edward Raymond Kenzakoski III who died at an early age, but lived life full out, no holds barred, with gusto…you get the picture. A shining example of present centered, from the heart living, he seems to be an enduring inspiration to the author.

Now begins with what are called 99 Present Centered Meditations which are mindfulness exercises and a call to action that are influenced by quotes from notables such as His Holiness The Dalai Lama, Joan Borysenko, Jack Kornfield, Jonathan Winters, Gandhi, The Buddha, Oprah and Rumi. Rick refers to these as Do It Now

Some examples:

“Our only choice this moment is how we choose to spend it. We never know if we will get another moment similar to this one, so what are you going to do with this unique moment? It is entirely up to you.”

“Free yourself from the chains of your past and future thoughts and allow the divine breeze to carry you through the day. Spread your wings and soar in the eternity that you now possess. Feel the divine embrace your body and soul; this is freedom.”

Then the story launch begins, as one by one, these wordsmiths welcome the reader into their lives that contain loss and gain, pain and pleasure, challenge and triumph. They range from a fitness trainer to an RN, from a radio talk show host to a dietician, from a singer-songwriter to an anthropologist. As I read the book, I felt as if I was being given intimate access to the deepest inner knowings and wisdom of the writers as they relate to the importance of living moment by moment, breath by breath. Many are world travelers, but even more profoundly, they dare to traverse the inner terrain and take the reader along the journey with them.

www.embracingthepresent.com

The book is available for pre-order on Amazon

Take a breath and center yourself.
