I was in a card store recently and saw a plaque that spoke to me…I may yet get it. It had on it a message from God. It said something like “There are three responses God will give you. <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n 1.Yes. <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n 2.Wait. <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n 3.And I Have Something Better in Mind.”<\/font><\/font><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Our all too busy, clamoring human minds tell us that we need to have things a certain way in order to be happy. Remember the movie “Bruce Almighty” in which the character of Bruce Nolan, played by the ever entertaining Jim Carrey is dissatisfied with the job that the Alpha and Omega is doing, so God, rendered by the marvelous Morgan Freeman, offers him the role? One of my favorite scenes is that in which he is sitting at his computer that I think of as ‘Prayer Central’. People from all over the world are petitioning him with their desires. In exasperation mode, he finally relents and says YES to everyone’s request. All havoc breaks loose as a result. <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n I think about the times when I have felt exasperated when my own wishes have not come true. “It’s not fair!”, my inner toddler storms and whines. Then my loving adult jumps on board and reminds her that even when what I intend doesn’t come to pass as I might want it to, what has emerged has been even grander than I have imagined. “No” to one request just might open the door to an even bigger “YES!” <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n <\/p>\n I have heard Rev. Michael Beckwith remind us that “Delays are not denials.” People, experiences, opportunities arrive when I am ready to greet them, fully willing to accept them into my life.<\/font><\/font><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Have a sweet, even better than you can imagine at this moment, weekend.<\/font><\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" I was in a card store recently and saw a plaque that spoke to me…I may yet get it.
