She had been in the presence of a woman who had the experience that follows. This woman was walking down the street and found a dime lying on the sidewalk, inviting her to pick it up. So she did, saying out loud &#8220;How much better does it get than this?&#8221;\u00a0 Continuing on her stroll, she spies a $10 bill on the sidewalk. Of course, she picks it up, ten dollars and ten cents richer. She repeats, with exuberance &#8220;How much better does it get than this?&#8221;\u00a0 A little later in the day, she catches the sparkle of a diamond tennis bracelet lying on a grate and picks it up and this time, responds &#8221; It can&#8217;t get better than THIS!&#8221; at which point, the flow stops.<\/p>\n<p>Every day we have the choice of our thoughts. If we begin our waking hours with the belief that we are surrounded by miracles and abundance is our birthright, the energy can flow unimpeded.\u00a0 I like to say that I am always at the right place at the right time, with just the right people so we can enrich each others&#8217; lives.<\/p>\n<p>A few years ago, as the PR Goddess for an event sponsored by Common Ground Fellowhship that brought in Rev. Michael Beckwith and Rickie Byars Beckwith, I had parked my car a few blocks away from the venue. I noticed a penny lying on the sidewalk\u00a0 right next to my car, and left it there. When I returned many hours later, after being immersed in the energy of abundance, I saw that the penny had invited a REALLY good friend&#8230;a twenty dollar bill. I looked around to see if someone was playing a joke. No one was to be seen. I gratefully affirmed that I was meant\u00a0 to receive that blessing.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In the past few days, my thoughts have yielded marvelous outcomes.\u00a0 One happened today as a man came into my office in the hospital where I am employed as a social worker, to deliver great news. \u00a0A few weeks ago, flooding had turned my carpet into a soggy, sloshy mess. It was pulled up and tossed and what was left beneath it was a concrete slab. When people walk in, I welcome them into my barn(:\u00a0 I asked our head of maintenance if I couldn&#8217;t convince him to replace it with lovely Mexican tile.\u00a0 He smiled and I knew that it meant industrial grade linoleum instead. It was scheduled to be put in during the day tomorrow, which meant I would be displaced for the day, a nomad in search of office space in which to meet with my patients and their families.\u00a0 Well, as it turns out, the bearer of glad tidings informed me that they decided to wait until Saturday so that I wouldn&#8217;t\u00a0 be inconvenienced. YAHOO!\u00a0 I thanked him profusely and told him that he had earned his wings today.<\/p>\n<p>I have been doing some healing of relationships lately, as Rosh Hashanah; the Jewish New Year, approaches. I had two uncomfortable interactions that were feeling at loose and ragged edges. I reached out to both people for clarity and in both circumstances, I walked away feeling a sense of resolution.\u00a0 One occurred a few years ago and one more recently. When I consider the poster I saw years ago that said, &#8220;Everything I ever let go of had claw marks on it.&#8221; with a picture of a kitty cat hanging on a branch, I am gratified that the things I was holding onto are no longer holding on to me.<\/p>\n<p>In the next few weeks my book will be out in the world and I KNOW I will find myself chanting my new mantra:\u00a0 &#8220;How much better does it get than this?&#8221;\u00a0 I invite you to use it all throughout your life.
