And overwhelmed.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>And irritable.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>And some things have been falling through the cracks.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>I\u2019ve also been feeling guilty.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>And I\u2019ve been trying to do too many things at once.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>And I\u2019ve made some mistakes.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>And I acted in a way that hurt someone\u2019s feelings.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">In short, I\u2019ve been a mess lately.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>I\u2019ve been very human.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>How do I get back on track?<span>\u00a0 <\/span>How do I reclaim that part of myself that is peaceful and wise and kind and in the flow?<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">If you\u2019ve been reading my blogs, you know the things that work for me, and if you\u2019re wise, you can probably guess that I haven\u2019t been doing them.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>And you\u2019d be right.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I\u2019ve fallen off the track.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>I\u2019ve let go of doing the very things that help keep me balanced.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Over and over I find myself doing this when I\u2019m very busy, away from home, and\/or traveling.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>I notice it\u2019s harder for me to claim some personal space when I\u2019m visiting with others.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>But that\u2019s no excuse.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>It\u2019s when I\u2019m traveling or very busy that those spiritual practices become most essential!<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I told my roommate a few weeks ago that if she noticed me being irritable or down, she should ask me if I\u2019ve been outside yet today.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>She should ask me if I\u2019ve said my prayers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I stayed over at some friends\u2019 home last night and just now I walked out into their backyard and communed with the flowers, the birds, the butterflies, the bees.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>I sang some prayers.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>And, true to form, I found my joy again.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">What brings you back to center?<span>\u00a0 <\/span>What brings you into a place of joy again?<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I had a friend who told me that when kids are grumpy, you should \u201cjust add water.\u201d<span>\u00a0 <\/span>In other words, put them in a pool or spray them with a sprinkler.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>What a great idea!<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">So here are some suggestions for when you are out of sorts and want to feel sorted out again:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"margin-top: 0in\" type=\"disc\">\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Take a bath.<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Play some really wonderful music.<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Meditate.<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Get a massage.<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Take a walk and look at the flowers.<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Count your blessings.<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Pet a purring cat.<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Eat some good food and drink some good water.<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Make a date with a friend.<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Do some chanting or singing or praying.<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Skip.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>(It\u2019s pretty much impossible to feel down if you skip.)<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Swing on a swing.<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Get your hands in the earth and do some gardening.<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Take the day off.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">May you find your joy.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>May you find your peace.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Blessed be.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some of my friends have probably noticed that I\u2019ve been grumpy lately.
