{"id":104,"date":"2013-05-28T19:04:53","date_gmt":"2013-05-28T19:04:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/blessingsabound\/?p=104"},"modified":"2013-05-28T19:07:10","modified_gmt":"2013-05-28T19:07:10","slug":"104","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/blessingsabound\/2013\/05\/104.html","title":{"rendered":"Who is Holding your Hand?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--[if gte mso 9]&gt;--><\/p>\n<p><!--[if gte mso 9]&gt;--><\/p>\n<p><!--[if gte mso 9]&gt;--><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">A couple years ago I had a powerful dream.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-left: 27.0pt\"><i>I saw huge waves coming toward the shore.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>And in those waves I saw huge dolphins.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>The waves looked a bit intimidating, but when I saw the dolphins, I felt pure joy.<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-left: 27.0pt\"><i>\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-left: 27.0pt\"><i>These huge waves proceeded to inundate me and everything else.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>I was underwater, holding my breath and trying to make it to the surface.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>And while I was swimming, I realized someone was holding my hand.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>That someone had an extremely firm hold of me.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>That someone was not about to let me get washed away.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>That someone was there for me and was not going to go away.<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-left: 27.0pt\"><i>\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-left: 27.0pt\"><i>After perhaps fifteen minutes or so, we emerged.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>We were up on a walkway and we were safe.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Once again, I saw dolphins.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>And I saw whales.<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><i>\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><i>\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Here are some of the questions that come to mind as I reread this dream:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"margin-top: 0in\" type=\"disc\">\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Are you feeling threatened or intimidated?<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Do you feel overwhelmed, submerged, or deluged?<span>\u00a0 <\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Are you worried about changes in your life?<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Are you worried about planetary changes or catastrophes?<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Is there someone there for you?<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Is there Someone there for you?<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Who has a hold of your hand?<span>\u00a0 <\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Can you ask for help?<span>\u00a0 <\/span>On whom can you call when you feel helpless or afraid or in need of assistance?<span>\u00a0 <\/span>On Whom can you call?<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">Do you have any allies?<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Are there any friends \u2013 human or otherwise \u2013 who bring you joy and comfort?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">We all need assistance or comfort at times.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>It is part of the human condition.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>When times are hard, it helps to have someone by our side.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">This is a gentle reminder that God is on-call 24\/7.<span>\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>The Holy One\/The Infinite Divine Presence\/Love\/the Creator\/Mother-Father God is available to us whenever we call out for help.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Angels or allies will flock to our side when we call out for help.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>You don\u2019t need to swim through the waters alone.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Let the ultimate Someone hold your hand.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Have faith; you will come to the surface.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>All is well.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A couple years ago I had a powerful dream. \u00a0 I saw huge waves coming toward the shore.\u00a0 And in those waves I saw huge dolphins.\u00a0 The waves looked a bit intimidating, but when I saw the dolphins, I felt pure joy. \u00a0 These huge waves proceeded to inundate me and everything else.\u00a0 I was&hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":553,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[79,84,78,23,83,80,82,81,37,45,77],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-104","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-allies","category-coming-to-the-surface","category-dolphins","category-faith","category-feeling-overwhelmed","category-god","category-holding-hands","category-invisible-companion","category-scary","category-support","category-waves"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v23.9 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Who is Holding your Hand?
