For example, here is a colossal squid found off the coast of NZ.&nbsp; Perhaps you will remember the tentacled sea creature that just about snagged a Hobbit as they entered the mines of Moria.&nbsp; I&#8217;m betting it was like this squid, which the Hobbits then pickled and put in a Hobbit museum somewhere.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/bibleandculture\/NZ%20307.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"mt-image-none\" height=\"711\" alt=\"NZ 307.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/137\/import\/assets_c\/2009\/08\/NZ%20307-thumb-400x711-7124.jpg\" width=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>But there were other great sea creatures off the coast of Middle Earth. Behold the ammonite.
