{"id":1224,"date":"2010-10-23T01:55:56","date_gmt":"2010-10-23T01:55:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/bibleandculture\/2010\/10\/the-cadet-chapel-at-the-air-force-academy--part-three.html"},"modified":"2010-10-23T01:55:56","modified_gmt":"2010-10-23T01:55:56","slug":"the-cadet-chapel-at-the-air-force-academy-part-three","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/bibleandculture\/2010\/10\/the-cadet-chapel-at-the-air-force-academy-part-three.html","title":{"rendered":"The Cadet Chapel At the Air Force Academy&#8212; Part Three"},"content":{"rendered":"<form><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/bibleandculture\/Colo%20061.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Colo 061.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/137\/import\/assets_c\/2010\/10\/Colo%20061-thumb-400x711-18608.jpg\" class=\"mt-image-none\" width=\"400\" height=\"711\" \/><\/a><\/form>\n<div>The Jewish Chapel (err Synagogue) is different from the two Christian chapels in that it is basically circular, not in the shape of a rectangle.&nbsp; One of the interesting features of this chapel is the various mezuzahs in the door frames, above which is the most colorful one. <\/p>\n<form><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/bibleandculture\/Colo%20062.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Colo 062.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/137\/import\/assets_c\/2010\/10\/Colo%20062-thumb-400x225-18610.jpg\" class=\"mt-image-none\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/form>\n<p>This room is warm and intimate, and its chief feature is some spectacular paintings of scenes from the Hebrew Bible.&nbsp; My personal favorites are Ruth and Boaz (the picture on the far left), and Jacob and the Angels (the picture on the far right). <\/p>\n<form><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/bibleandculture\/Colo%20068.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Colo 068.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/137\/import\/assets_c\/2010\/10\/Colo%20068-thumb-400x225-18612.jpg\" class=\"mt-image-none\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/form>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p><\/div>\n<div>On the opposite wall we have Elijah and the chariot of fire, and<\/p>\n<form><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/bibleandculture\/Colo%20065.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Colo 065.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/137\/import\/assets_c\/2010\/10\/Colo%20065-thumb-400x225-18614.jpg\" class=\"mt-image-none\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/form>\n<p><\/div>\n<div>And in the middle of these three paintings you also see Ezekiel and his throne chariot vision. <br \/>On the outside walls there are also things of interest to see. <\/p>\n<form><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/bibleandculture\/Colo%20075.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Colo 075.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/137\/import\/assets_c\/2010\/10\/Colo%20075-thumb-400x225-18616.jpg\" class=\"mt-image-none\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/form>\n<p><\/div>\n<div>Here is a Torah scroll, and you might just see an interesting reflection here if you look closely. <\/p>\n<form><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/bibleandculture\/Colo%20076.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Colo 076.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/137\/import\/assets_c\/2010\/10\/Colo%20076-thumb-400x225-18618.jpg\" class=\"mt-image-none\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/form>\n<p><\/div>\n<div>These stones are in the floor outside the Jewish place of worship.
