Here on the mountains Alexander the Great defeated the proud citizens of this place, and they may have built a monument to him (a heroon, or hero monument,,, but it may be for a later ruler).&nbsp; This site includes, as the pictures below will show&#8212; an agora, an odeon, a major Roman road leading into town, a library, a theater, to mention only a few of the sights to see.
