Trust also in Him and He shall bring it to pass.<\/em> Psalm 37:5<\/p>\n<p>I looked in my tiny, dorm-sized refrigerator and sighed. No matter how often I looked in there, nothing tasty and low glycemic appeared. It has been a real challenge to stay the course during these weeks when our real refrigerator has been waiting repairs. It\u2019s a lot of trouble to stock up on good things to much on when there is no place to put the munchables.<\/p>\n<p>On days when the scale refuses to budge, it\u2019s even harder not to give up and go to Sonic.\u00a0 Our \u201cdieter\u2019s psalm,\u201d Psalm 37, has an answer for those days when it seems like we will never reach our goals. Commit them to God.<\/p>\n<p>Dictionary.com defines commit as \u201cto give in trust or consign.\u201d \u00a0 It comes from the old English word which means \u201cgive over.\u201d \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Maybe you don\u2019t have enough strength to stick to your plan until you see results, \u00a0but when we hand over &#8212; commit &#8212; ourselves and our goals to God, we have His promise. He WILL bring it to pass.<\/p>\n<p>To commit to Him doesn\u2019t mean we can go ahead and eat the cookies and trust God to make them not show up our hips.\u00a0 It means saying, \u201cI can\u2019t do this on my own, Lord. I can only fail.\u00a0 Please give me the strength to obey You.\u201d\u00a0 When you pray for strength to do what is right, you can be sure He will answer!\u00a0 Assume you have that strength (instead of assuming that you will fail again) and act on it.<\/p>\n<p>It WILL happen.\u00a0 Trust Him &#8212; and hang in there!<\/p>\n<p><em>Eating to live and living for Christ,<\/em><br \/>\nSusan Jordan Brown<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Commit thy way unto the Lord.
