Dried Cranberries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s recipe day &#8212; and I want to share a second cranberry recipe I found while looking for cranberry sauce recipes the other day.\u00a0 It\u2019s for dried cranberries.\u00a0 Most of the time dried fruit is counter-productive.\u00a0 There is too much sugar (natural and added) to make it a good weight-loss food.\u00a0 This recipe calls for the alternative sweetener of your choice and is high in nutrients and fiber.\u00a0 Mine turned out a little more like fruit leather than like plain dried fruit &#8212; but that was probably because I was too impatient to let it dry all the way.\u00a0 It was still good!\u00a0 If you have a dehydrator, I\u2019m sure it would make this recipe easier, but I\u2019ve included the instructions for drying in the oven.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Dried Cranberries<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">\u00a0Ingredients<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 bag (12 oz.) of fresh whole cranberries<\/li>\n<li>Sugar substitute to equal 1 cup sugar, or to taste<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup water<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Directions<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare a baking sheet.\u00a0 Cover it with three layers of paper towels and then a piece of parchment paper.<\/li>\n<li>Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.<\/li>\n<li>Combine the ingredients in a saucepan and heat on medium high heat, stirring often.\u00a0 Cook until the cranberries burst open, in about 4 to 5 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Remove from heat and cool for about 10 minutes.\u00a0 Mash them with the back of a large spoon and cool for 5 more minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Spread the cranberries on the parchment paper.\u00a0 Make sure all the berries are popped.\u00a0 Turn down the oven to the lowest setting, about 150 degrees, and put the baking sheet in the oven.\u00a0 Start checking the cranberries for doneness after about six hours.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Enjoy!<\/p>\n<p>Eating to live and living for Christ,<\/p>\n<p>Susan Jordan Brown<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s recipe day &#8212;
