(See yesterday\u2019s blog.) \u00a0A USDA study showed them to be the fruit with the highest antioxidant values. But how do you eat them?\u00a0 You can\u2019t pop them in your mouth and crunch them up like you do blueberries or strawberries.\u00a0 At least, I wouldn\u2019t recommend it!<\/p>\n<p>I looked at a lot of interesting recipes.\u00a0 As usual, the easy ones attracted me most.\u00a0 The very simplest turned out to be pretty tasty.\u00a0 Here it is:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Cranberry Sauce<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Ingredients<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 bag of fresh cranberries<\/li>\n<li>Sugar substitute to equal 1 cup sugar.\u00a0 (I used Trehalose this time.\u00a0 It has as many calories as sugar, but has a lower glycemic index. Some studies show it is also good for improving brain function.)<\/li>\n<li>1 cup water<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 tsp. Himalayan salt (or sea salt)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Directions<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Wash and pick over the cranberries, removing any soft or brown ones.\u00a0 Add the rest of the ingredients and bring to a boil.\u00a0 Stir frequently.\u00a0 The cranberries will pop and release their gel.\u00a0 Cook until the sauce is the consistency you want.\u00a0 This will usually take five to ten minutes.<\/p>\n<p>And you are done!\u00a0 This recipe makes eight, 1\/4 cup servings of cranberry sauce.<\/p>\n<p>Eating to live and living for Christ,<\/p>\n<p>Susan Jordan Brown<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cranberries can do wonderful things for you &#8212; including helping you to feel and look young.
