Sometimes I wonder if weight issues don\u2019t go along with hoarding issues — which come down to problem with trust.\u00a0 If we don\u2019t really trust God to take care of our needs, we feel the urge to squirrel things away in case we lack them.\u00a0 What if our comfort is in some way compromised?<\/p>\n

There is an element, too, of eating while we can. This is especially true when you are planning on going on a healthy eating plan.\u00a0 We fear the loss of our comforting foods and the stimulation the pleasure centers in our brains receive.\u00a0 We try to save it up — which doesn\u2019t work.<\/p>\n

The good news is that when you trust the Lord to meet all your needs — including your need for comfort — you don\u2019t feel driven to turn to food.\u00a0 Focus on growing \u201cfat\u201d spiritually and you may find the insatiable urge to eat will fade. Focus on giving and you may really understand what it is to be satisfied.<\/p>\n
