Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.\u00a0 Gal. 5:1<\/em><\/p>\n

It\u2019s Independence Day!\u00a0 On this day my readers who are in the U.S. celebrate our freedom as a nation and thank God for that liberty!<\/p>\n

All of us who are citizens of God\u2019s kingdom have reason to celebrate freedom, too.\u00a0 Jesus, by His death, has set us free from the bondage of our sins.<\/p>\n

We are also free from the addictions and habits that held us back for so long.\u00a0 But that doesn\u2019t mean we aren\u2019t in danger of slipping back into slavery.\u00a0 Many sneaky things can lull us into servitude. We can be enslaved by our appetite for food, and even by a passion for fitness that consumes our lives and leaves no time or energy for other people — or for our God.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why this verse says, \u201cYou are free. Don\u2019t get tangled up in those chains again!\u201d<\/p>\n

Rejoice in freedom — and stay free!<\/p>\n

Eating to live and living for Christ,<\/p>\n
