I encourage you to look at the factors and decide for yourself.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/beyondgorgeous\/files\/2012\/04\/207166_10150566829270537_758175536_18018906_565319_n8.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1469\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/261\/2012\/04\/207166_10150566829270537_758175536_18018906_565319_n8-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>Here, in my opinion, are the worst of the worst.\u00a0 I personally would not use any of these!<\/p>\n<p>5.\u00a0 Agave nectar &#8212; 15 to 30 calories per teaspoon.\u00a0 High in fructose which is metabolized in the liver and goes straight to fat production.\u00a0 Glycemic index: 30<\/p>\n<p>4. \u00a0Table sugar &#8212; 16 calories per teaspoon.\u00a0 Inexpensive at about $.50 a pound. No health benefits. Causes tooth decay and is a major factor in obesity.\u00a0 Glycemic index: 65<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0 Sucralose (Splenda) Zero calories. Artificial and linked with chlorine &#8212; a pesticide.\u00a0 Glycemic index: 80.<\/p>\n<div>2. Aspartame &#8212; Zero calories. Inexpensive and widely available.\u00a0 It is artificial and toxic and has an aftertaste. Glycemic index: 0<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>1.(Worst of the worst)\u00a0 High fructose corn syrup &#8212; 16 calories per teaspoon, is inexpensive and is in most processed foods.\u00a0 No health benefits and numerous studies show that it is a major factor in the obesity epidemic. It also causes high triglyceride levels and liver damage.
