James at “Finding Optimism”<\/a> lists his own top five blogs on depression<\/a>. I berated him about not including Beyond Blue<\/a> on his list, and he insisted that the list was compiled BEFORE he checked out Beyond Blue. I believe him for now. However, you know what it’s like inside the brain of a manic depressive, your paranoia surfaces at the most inconvenient times.
\nHere’s what James says:<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve taken some poetic license here. The blogs aren\u2019t 100% about depression, although they don\u2019t drift far away. And they aren\u2019t in the Top 5 by consensus, since I am the sole judge and arbiter.
\n1. “Furious Seasons”<\/strong>

\nWritten by a seasoned journalist, who describes his blog as \u201cone man\u2019s attempt to make sense of mental illness in America\u201d. Excellent commentary on the medical approach to treating mental illness.
\n2. “A Beautiful Revolution” <\/strong>

\nYou either get it, or you don\u2019t. Well, I don\u2019t know about me. But it is great stuff.
\n3. “Space and Time”<\/strong>
\nhttp:\/\/embracingmyinsanity.blogspot.com\/
\nSmall posts about everything and nothing. Personal, humorous and self-deprecating.
\n4. “The Splintered Mind”<\/strong>
\nhttp:\/\/thesplinteredmind.blogspot.com\/
\nDeals with neurological disabilities – ADHD, depression and the like – using plenty of attitude and dry humor.
\n5. “The Pursuit of Happiness”<\/strong>
\nhttp:\/\/happinesspursuing.blogspot.com\/
\nThis blog is subtitled “one man\u2019s battle against depression,” which is an apt description. The anonymous writer is on a lonely journey to find out what is wrong with him and which treatments to try.
