My mom kept her Bible in our living room marked to this passage. I would sit there when no one was around and read it over and over again, soaking in every single word of consolation. It used to give me great peace. It stilll does.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High<br \/>\nwill rest in the shadow of the Almighty.<br \/>\nI will say of the LORD, &#8220;He is my refuge and my fortress,<br \/>\nmy God, in whom I trust.&#8221;<br \/>\nSurely he will save you from the fowler&#8217;s snare<br \/>\nand from the deadly pestilence.<br \/>\nHe will cover you with his feathers,<br \/>\nand under his wings you will find refuge;<br \/>\nhis faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.<br \/>\nYou will not fear the terror of night,<br \/>\nnor the arrow that flies by day,<br \/>\nnor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,<br \/>\nnor the plague that destroys at midday.<br \/>\nA thousand may fall at your side,<br \/>\nten thousand at your right hand,<br \/>\nbut it will not come near you.<br \/>\nYou will only observe with your eyes<br \/>\nand see the punishment of the wicked.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote><p> If you make the Most High your dwelling\u2014<br \/>\neven the LORD, who is my refuge-<br \/>\nthen no harm will befall you,<br \/>\nno disaster will come near your tent.<br \/>\nFor he will command his angels concerning you<br \/>\nto guard you in all your ways;<br \/>\nthey will lift you up in their hands,<br \/>\nso that you will not strike your foot against a stone.<br \/>\nYou will tread upon the lion and the cobra;<br \/>\nyou will trample the great lion and the serpent.<br \/>\n&#8220;Because he loves me,&#8221; says the LORD, &#8220;I will rescue him;<br \/>\nI will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.<br \/>\nHe will call upon me, and I will answer him;<br \/>\nI will be with him in trouble,<br \/>\nI will deliver him and honor him.<br \/>\nWith long life will I satisfy him<br \/>\nand show him my salvation.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>And one more piece of my spiritual armor is Psalm 91.
