Another entertaining and thoughtful thread at Group Beyond Blue<\/a> is the one started by Group Beyond Blue<\/a> Member Vick2008 called “Growing Older Learning Lessons.”<\/strong> Because I feel like I’m always learning some lesson, I tuned in and was glad I did. Here are a few lessons she lists:<\/p>\n

* If you clean floors or buy groceries it will rain.\u00a0\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\n

* They should separate the dogs from the cats at the vet’s waiting room.<\/p>\n

* This too shall pass.<\/p>\n

* Mama’s don’t mind telling you I Told You So.<\/p>\n

* Grandma’s biscuits are always best.<\/p>\n

* There is always a rainbow after a rain.<\/p>\n

* Animals love the real us.<\/p>\n

* Mistakes in life are lessons learned. (Sometimes the hard way.)<\/p>\n

* No matter how hard we try we can’t control other situations.<\/p>\n

* Nobody’s perfect.<\/p>\n

* And I think we will all agree on this one. Sometimes SH&% just happens.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Her list prompted these other lessons from fellow Group Beyond Blue<\/a> members:<\/p>\n

Life is to short to make all the mistakes yourself. Learn from others mistakes.<\/strong> –Biglar<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I have learned and I have been told that to overextend myself and fall sick does me no good.<\/strong> -Belleo<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Ecclesiastes 3 is right — life for everyone has ups and downs, twists and turns.<\/strong> Mine are more extreme and potentially more dangerous because of this disease called bipolar disorder. But it also reminds me to have hope when I am down, and to be humble (and not risk mania) when I am up, because things do change in life. -Doxieman<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The only true person you can depend on is God and yourself.<\/strong> -Mlwalker
If there is poop any place in our house, my foot will find it before anyone else will find it.<\/strong> Also, picking and choosing my battles. Some things just aren’t worth the fight. –Plaidypus<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

“If at first you don’t succeed…PUNT.”<\/strong> Or “Raising teenagers is like trying to nail Jello to a tree.” Or my favorite ” Behind every good woman is a cat and a fridge full of chocolate.” –Rose<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

My lesson? Probably “Don’t sweat the small stuff.” And it’s all small stuff.<\/span><\/p>\n
