It’s been a relatively good Friday for Ali Hussain Sibat, the Lebanese TV fortune-teller arrested by Saudi Arabia’s religious police and convicted of witchcraft last year. CNN reports that <\/a>his attorney said he has not been beheaded today after all<\/a>, though he remains sentenced to death. It seems the efforts by Amnesty International and other international human rights groups have helped save his life, for now — but I would imagine that, given the religious reasons for his imprisonment and conviction, Muslim authorities need to get involved to have Sibat freed.<\/p>\n
