From <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newsobserver.com\/2010\/08\/17\/633324\/1st-amendment-cited-in-nc-college.html\">the Associated Press story<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Allowing the school&#8217;s security officers to carry out laws on behalf of the state violates the U.S. Constitution&#8217;s prohibition against laws establishing religion by creating &#8220;an excessive government entanglement with religion,&#8221; Judge Jim Wynn wrote in the unanimous opinion.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Greenboro News &amp; Record reveals that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.news-record.com\/blog\/54431\/entry\/96937\">this stems from a dispute over&nbsp;a student&#8217;s drunk driving arrest<\/a>.
