Samurai Song<\/em><\/p>\n

When I had no roof I made<\/em>
\n Audacity my roof. When I had<\/em>
\n No supper my eyes dined.<\/em><\/p>\n

When I had no eyes I listened.<\/em>
\n When I had no ears I thought.<\/em>
\n When I had no thought I waited.<\/em><\/p>\n

When I had no father I made<\/em>
\n Care my father. When I had<\/em>
\n No mother I embraced order.<\/em><\/p>\n

When I had no friend I made<\/em>
\n Quiet my friend. When I had no<\/em>
\n Enemy I opposed my body.<\/em><\/p>\n

When I had no temple I made<\/em>
\n My voice my temple. I have<\/em>
\n No priest, my tongue is my choir.<\/em><\/p>\n

When I have no means fortune<\/em>
\n Is my means. When I have<\/em>
\n Nothing, death will be my fortune.<\/em><\/p>\n

Need is my tactic, detachment<\/em>
\n Is my strategy. When I had<\/em>
\n No lover I courted my sleep.<\/em><\/p>\n
