In a far away land long ago, I used to be one of the most negative people I knew.\u00a0 I used to let my circumstances over take me so much so that they became my identity.\u00a0 I began to speak what I thought my existence was.\u00a0 However, one day I had a moment of clarity<\/strong>.\u00a0 I had a friend tell me that I had a dark cloud (metaphorically) hovering over me continually. That was so hard for me to take.\u00a0 But it was the truth!<\/p>\n

I discovered that the words I was speaking began to take formation in my life. I was attracting the negative in my life because that’s what I was speaking.\u00a0 The Bible is true when it says “life and death are in the power of the tongue” (Proverbs 18:21).\u00a0 We have control over the words that come out of our mouth.\u00a0 But first we must examine our thoughts.<\/p>\n

Each of us have a tape that is constantly playing in our minds whether we realize it or not.\u00a0 That tape is informing us subconsciously to speak things into our life.\u00a0 Take a moment and truly examine your thoughts.\u00a0 I’d bet you there is a thought that is constantly occurring your mind that is shaping your perspective and ultimately the words you speak.\u00a0 If you find yourself using words and phrases like: Always, Constantly, I can’t catch a break, should’ve known better, your self tape needs to be improved.<\/p>\n

Here’s a secret: anytime you find yourself thinking negatively or pondering accusing thoughts about yourself begin to speak out loud against those thoughts.\u00a0 We overcome negative thoughts with spoken words of faith<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 Every morning I wake up and brush my teeth I speak to myself in the mirror all affirming things about me. I do my best to proactively program my self tape for the day.<\/p>\n

The moment I started to change my words, my life and my world began to unfold for the positive. I discovered that I solely hold the success and failure of my life.\u00a0 I depend on God for grace and strength, but the choices, the words I speak are all up to me.\u00a0 The same applies to us all.<\/p>\n

Remember we have the ability to not only change our world, but the world as a whole….BE GREAT!!<\/p>\n
