As always, I end up learning more from them than I could ever teach them. There is something magical about youth and being child-like. Over the course of our time together we bonded as a family. We fought with each other and loved each other. One powerful moment happened when two of my kids had a sharp disagreement. It was so powerful that it literally changed the atmosphere. One left the room crying the other, became cold and mean. I naturally, intervened and tried to rectify the situation. But, something told me to let it go. After our session together the two girls stayed afterward and decided to talk things out. While there was some screaming and yelling, eventually it got to a place of calm and reconciliation began to take place.

I thought to myself how powerful and healing it is to reconcile with another. Too often we find ourselves being so protective of our feelings that it takes precedence over a mended relationship. To put it simply we’ve become too self-absorbed. As a Life Coach, I’m a strong proponent for reconciling. My clients, through their own admission, have said that they know they have let go of some great relationships. How many times have you let go of a relationship over being caught up being right or your emotions?

The greatest evidence of God is when we put our differences aside and forgive each other and remain committed to healing and mending our relationships. Believe it or not, when we reconcile the relationship tends to be stronger and deeper than it was before. In the end it is our connections that help us grow in life. Being right may feel good for a while, but losing someone whom we know was for us has a stronger impact on us. Today let the pride go and go reconcile.

Remember we have the ability to not only change our world, but the world as a whole….BE GREAT!!

Until Next Time,

Pervis

Pervis Taylor, III is an Author, Life Coach, Speaker and Contributor.
