In the journey towards greatness its important to recognize where and how far you’ve come in life. Too often we get so destination oriented\u00a0 that we miss the blessing because we are so caught up in the end result.\u00a0 You can never celebrate what you didn’t appreciate. If you don’t appreciate the journey, you will never fully feel the joy of life.<\/p>\n

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting some extremely successful people and even developed some meaningful relationships with some.\u00a0 As a student of life I always solicit any advice that they could provide.\u00a0 While I’ve gotten numerous responses, the one common piece they all say is enjoy the moment.\u00a0 Why? Because, success comes at a feverish pace that if you are not prepared for it, it can take you out.<\/p>\n

One of the most fascinating interviews I’ve seen was when Oprah Winfrey interviewed author, J. K. Rowling.\u00a0 They covered a lot of things, but what stood out was when J.K. asked Oprah if she enjoyed her success and how did she get to that place.\u00a0 Oprah recounted the story of Michael Jackson when he recorded Thriller<\/em>, that he had no idea that it would be the biggest selling album of all time.\u00a0 Thus, he spent the rest of his career chasing after Thriller and never took a moment to enjoy the journey.<\/p>\n

While that is an extreme example, the principle is still the same.\u00a0 We must celebrate our journeys.\u00a0 Imagine you’ve just landed from a long trip and you have a 4 hour lay over.\u00a0 How do you spend your time? Are you thinking about what you’re going to do when you get to your final destination. Or perhaps, could you sit down relax and treat yourself to lunch or dinner at the airport? Neither choice is bad, but one is rooted in relaxation and joy,while the other is rooted in anxiety.<\/p>\n

It’s important to know that we never arrive in life.\u00a0 While each achievement may seem\u00a0 like the thing that’s worth celebrating. In reality it’s who we became in the process to the journey.<\/p>\n

Remember we have the ability to not only change our world, but the world as a whole….BE GREAT!!<\/p>\n
