Here’s something that used to scare the heck out of me…<\/p>\n
Not only that but this is something that was quite often on my mind, even to the point of it being a distraction.<\/p>\n
You see, one thing that is important to me are the special people in my life. This
\nconsists of my family, and specifically my parents.<\/p>\n
They’ve done a lot for me over the course of my life. In addition to my parents there was also my step father, Carl, that my mom married back when I was 7. As a result I lived under the same roof as this wonderful man for 13 years.<\/p>\n
Carl was my first mentor and largely responsible for what I do today, which is helping people raise their human potential so they can live a fulfilling life doing what they love.<\/p>\n
So what does this have to do with something scaring the heck out of me?<\/p>\n
Before I mention what that is, there’s something else important to bring up.<\/p>\n
Right now my parents are still alive and I am very blessed because of that. My mother is 75. My father is 80.<\/p>\n
Carl passed away back in 1992. He was 53 at the time.<\/p>\n
I never got a chance to tell Carl in my own words, “thank you.”<\/p>\n
So what is it that used to scare the heck out of me?<\/p>\n
Not being able to tell (and show) my parents, “thank you”…<\/p>\n
But that’s how I felt during the time when I had accumulated the $100,000 debt.<\/p>\n
The reason I felt scared at the time was because I believed that time was running out on paying back my parents for all that they did for me. Even though they said that I didn’t have to give them any money, I still wanted to pay them back in some way.<\/p>\n
The problem was that I needed money to do that. And at the time there was no money, just a never ending sea of bills and an avalanche of debt.<\/p>\n
It was also during this time period that I had the revelation that all of the negative situations in my life served a purpose. And as a result I turned my life around, formed my business, and began helping others do the same.<\/p>\n
This led me down the path to the freedom based lifestyle I live today…<\/p>\n
And most importantly, was able to pay back my parents in a number of ways. Yes, the money was important to have as there’s no question about that. Because after all how can you have more freedom and flexibility in your life without it?<\/p>\n
There are many people that say “money doesn’t buy happiness” and I find that to be half true…<\/p>\n
Because when you really take the time to look it’s all about the freedom…the freedom and fulfillment of giving back to the most important people in your life.<\/p>\n
So who have been the most important people in your life? And along with that, who do you care about most?<\/p>\n
Have you ever told these people how much you appreciate them?<\/p>\n
If you still have the opportunity, contact them in some way and let them know that you appreciate all they’ve done because they may not be aware of it.<\/p>\n
And even if they’ve passed on do whatever you can to carry on their spirit.<\/p>\n
That’s what I do regarding my stepfather. Most of my social mannerisms of being outgoing and likable are a few examples of keeping his spirit alive.<\/p>\n
It’s so easy at times to take the simple things in life for granted. This is especially true when it comes to the people we care about.<\/p>\n
Yes, the challenging moments come up at times.<\/p>\n
Yes, there are moments when we feel the need to want to get away from that person…<\/p>\n
And yes there may be times when we say certain things we don’t mean.<\/p>\n
But when you take the time to let someone know that you really care about them and all that they do, it makes all the difference in the world.<\/p>\n
Not only that but it makes all the difference in the world to you as well.<\/p>\n
It’s funny, but at times the very things that can scare the life out of you are the very same things that can bring life back into you.<\/p>\n
And when you bring that life back into you, you’ll realize how special you are along with the tremendous amount of value you contribute to the world…<\/p>\n
And also be sure to care about yourself too because you really do make a difference in the world.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
