Do you feel like nobody quite understands you? Do you believe that it is really hard to just be yourself? Perhaps your not even sure what it means to just be yourself. If you can relate to this, you are certainly not alone. We live in a world today where most of us are living very disconnected from the truth of who we really are.<\/p>\n
Why are we disconnected from our truth? It’s really quite simple. At some point along our path we felt that we were not seen and validated for who we truly were and therefor we have learned to adapt in ways that be believe will guarantee us a feelings of safety. We make choices that we think we should make rather than what feels right for us. These choices make up who we choose to be and how we choose to show up in the world. It reflects in the words that we speak to the actions that we take. When we live from the need to feel safe, we don’t take the time to ask big questions like<\/p>\n
“Who am I?”<\/p>\n
“What nourishes me?”<\/p>\n
“what is important to me?”<\/p>\n
“What do I value?”<\/p>\n
“Who do I choose to be?”<\/p>\n
“What inspires me?”<\/p>\n
What is the vision that I have for my life?”<\/p>\n
Instead we live on auto-pilot moving through the motions of life based on old programming that we learned in our younger years. We believe we are who we are based on what we learned and observed from the world around us. If we don’t take the time to ask big questions, we will travel through our precious \u00a0life living out someone’s else perceptions, beliefs and expectations rather than our own.<\/p>\n
And then we’ll wonder why we may feel confused, drained and even exhausted from living from a check list of always striving to be enough, do enough and have enough. It’s indeed an uphill battle.<\/p>\n
It is crucial that we slow down and take the time to ask the powerful questions stated above. Asking these questions and taking the time to get curious about the answers will give you an opening to learn more about who you really are. These are not answers that we can force. They are questions that we must live by and experience through the commitment to being present with ourselves. \u00a0It will enable us to gain clarity from within and help us realize that nobody actually needs to understand us other than ourselves.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
