Those red robes from your Catholic service as a bishop sure continue to be your signature style. The stories of dropping dowries down a chimney to help out some poor women who were about to be sold off as servants moves me too. With your gold coins falling in their stockings they were able to marry their fiances.\u00a0 I know you did many more extraordinary and selfless things which is why you\u2019ve become a symbol of the Christmas season.<a href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/~\/media\/44AC45C6F1474F32B108CA3589D29506.ashx\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/~\/media\/44AC45C6F1474F32B108CA3589D29506.ashx\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s my wish list for this season:<\/p>\n<p>1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I often think of Christmas as a time to receive. I\u2019ve not been very good at this in the past \u2013 considering myself unworthy. So I would like the gift of being able to graciously receive and to feel worthy.<\/p>\n<p>2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Peace. \u201cLet there be peace in the world and let it begin with me.\u201d I believe Adlai Stevenson wrote that. I realize that peace requires effort. It means going deep beneath the mental chatter, beneath the emotional highs and lows. I get there most easily when I respond to the divine wake up call at 4:30 a.m. and sit quietly. The serenity goes with me throughout the day.<\/p>\n<p>3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Love \u2013 May I feel and share enough love to make the world a better place.<\/p>\n<p>4)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Health \u2013 May this precious body remain in good health.<\/p>\n<p>There are also some downright material things:<\/p>\n<p>5)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0A raspberry colored scarf.<\/p>\n<p>6)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A pair of boots.<\/p>\n<p>7)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A MacBook<\/p>\n<p>8)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 And don\u2019t forget the chocolate covered cherries!<\/p>\n<p>And what would you like?
