{"id":1341,"date":"2012-08-16T06:41:45","date_gmt":"2012-08-16T10:41:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/awakeintheworld\/?p=1341"},"modified":"2012-08-15T08:59:24","modified_gmt":"2012-08-15T12:59:24","slug":"developing-the-courage-to-change","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/awakeintheworld\/2012\/08\/developing-the-courage-to-change.html","title":{"rendered":"Developing The Courage to Change"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The invitation to change and grow means leaving behind old luggage, old structures, old ways of working and even changing jobs to find a new company which works more in harmony with our renewed sense of values.\u00a0 One project manager worked with a company which made medical products for dialysis.\u00a0 He felt a great sense of purpose and well-being as he developed new products with the idea of serving patients.\u00a0 But he soon realized that the company\u2019s main goal was serving itself interest to the point of putting patients at risk by using low quality materials and ineffective and even illegal sterilizing methods to cut costs.\u00a0 This touched him in a most personal way.\u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" title=\"Woman leaping in a field\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/~\/media\/CFEA286C0D7D45BDA1A3C1439F292789.ashx?w=400&amp;h=300\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>His mother, a dialysis patient, requires these products for her survival.\u00a0 He patiently worked with the head manager and the company owner and voiced his concerns about their choices.\u00a0 After more than two years of devoting himself to the company, he saw no positive changes, only an increased focus on more profit at the expense of patients.\u00a0 He decided to leave the job, even though he didn\u2019t have another one lined up.
