On June 8, former FBI Director James Comey testified before Congress.<\/p>\n
His testimony drove a nail straight into the heart of the Big Lie that the D.C. Regime has spent months advancing.<\/p>\n
Shortly after Donald J. Trump and the 63 million Deplorables who voted for him defied the world and won the presidency, the Big Lie began: Trump\u2019s election was illegitimate, for \u201cthe Russians,\u201d led by none other than Vladimir Putin, \u201ccolluded\u201d with Trump and his campaign to \u201chack\u201d into DNC emails and steal the election from the candidate, Hillary Clinton, that rightfully won it.<\/p>\n
Some of us knew from the jump that this was the stuff of third-rate spy novels. \u00a0Such is the scandalously outlandish nature of its plot that, odds are, the architects and peddlers of the Big Lie have always known that it is fiction.<\/p>\n
But, or so the Regimists in the Democrat and Republican Parties have hoped, the Big Lie could prove effective in undermining the collective will of the electorate by undermining the man that they duly elected (You read this correctly: It is not \u201cthe Russians,\u201d but President Trump\u2019s Democrat and Republican enemies, both within and outside of the Deep State, that are guilty of trying to subvert an American, a \u201cdemocratic,\u201d election).<\/p>\n
On June 8, Comey exposed the Big Lie for what it has always been.<\/p>\n
Outside of some publicity-hungry, intellectually shallow politicians, most of the merchants of the Big Lie try to avoid explicitly using the language of \u201ccollusion\u201d\u2014though this is what all of its merchants (and consumers) mean to imply when they talk of \u201ccontacts,\u201d as the New York Times <\/em>spoke on February 14, between Trump\u2019s campaign staff and \u201csenior Russian intelligence officials.\u201d\u00a0 It was this Times <\/em>articles that, perhaps more than anything else, lent an air (but only an air) of legitimacy to the Big Lie.<\/p>\n When asked today by Republican Senator Jim Risch whether this \u201creport\u201d was true, Comey responded categorically: \u201cIt was not true.\u201d<\/p>\n For months, Democrat and some Republican politicians, their fellow travelers in the Regime\u2019s Propaganda Ministry, and Deep State actors have colluded to affect a coup of a duly elected President, even going so far as to compromise national security by antagonizing the world\u2019s second most heavily armed nuclear power.<\/p>\n And, within seconds, one of those Deep State actors, Mr. Comey, admitted that none of it was true<\/em>.<\/p>\n There was never any \u201ccollusion\u201d between Team Trump and \u201cthe Russians,\u201d or even anything that could remotely be used as a pretext for conjuring this fiction.<\/p>\n Comey\u2019s testimony on this score alone vindicated in spades Trump and<\/em> his campaign staff.\u00a0 The Big Lie is just that.<\/p>\n Yet there was more that Comey said that further proved that the Democrats and their GOP allies owe the President\u2014and, for that matter, the American people\u2014an engraved apology:<\/p>\n Comey corroborated Trump\u2019s claim that, on three separate occasions, he assured him that he was not under investigation.<\/p>\n Now, had there been anything at all to the Big Lie of \u201ccollusion\u201d between Trump and \u201cthe Russians,\u201d then, obviously, one of the two colluders would have had to have been under investigation.\u00a0 That Trump had never been so much as a part of an FBI investigation, let alone a target of it, proves <\/em>that no one in the Intelligence community thought that they had any more reason to investigate Trump for acting inappropriately with respect to \u201cthe Russians\u201d than they had reason to investigate your or I for doing the same.<\/p>\n The second time that Comey assured Trump that he wasn\u2019t being investigated transpired at a dinner that the FBI Director had with the President.\u00a0 Trump was livid and disgusted over the bogus dossier that had just been leaked about his alleged connections with \u201cthe Russians.\u201d The fake dossier, published by such prominent Fake News outlets as Buzzfeed<\/em> and CNN<\/em>, contained laughable, though truly repulsive, assertions that Trump visited Russian hotels, slept with Russian prostitutes, and deliberately urinated on the Russian bedsheets that he knew Barack and Michele Obama would sleep upon when they visited Russia.<\/p>\n Initially, the President \u201csaid he was considering ordering me to investigate the alleged incident to prove it didn\u2019t happen,\u201d Comey testified. \u201cI replied that he should give that careful thought because it might create a narrative that we were investigating him personally, which we weren\u2019t<\/em>\u2026.\u201d (emphasis added).<\/p>\n Interestingly, Comey added as another reason for not exposing the fake dossier as a fraud that \u201cit was very difficult to prove a negative.\u201d Exactly right. The Regimists who want Trump\u2019s head know this all too well, which is exactly why they started this \u201cwitch hunt.\u201d<\/p>\n The third occasion that Comey assured Trump that he was not being investigated came when the President urged him to assure the public <\/em>of this truth.\u00a0 At this juncture, Comey even attested that Trump favored <\/em>an investigation into his \u201cassociates\u201d and for publicizing any wrongdoing, should any such be found. \u201cThe president went on to say that if there were some \u2018satellite\u2019 associates of his who did something wrong, it would be good to find that out, but that he <\/em>hadn\u2019t done anything wrong and hoped I would find a way to get it out that we weren\u2019t investigating him\u201d (emphasis added).<\/p>\n Trump, justifiably, was upset and frustrated that the Big Lie, which, according to Comey, Trump referred to as a \u201ccloud\u201d that \u201cwas interfering with his ability to make deals for the country,\u201d could have been put to rest by an FBI Director who refused to do so.\u00a0 Comey\u2019s testimony also makes it abundantly clear that Trump was in no way trying to run interference for any of the members of his team who may <\/em>have acted illicitly.<\/p>\n The Big Lie is done, as even MSNBC\u2019s Chris Mathews had to acknowledge on Thursday night.<\/p>\n \u201cThe assumption of the critics of the president, of his pursuers, you might say, is that somewhere along the line in the last year is the president had something to do with colluding with the Russians\u2026to affect the election in some way.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAnd yet,\u201d Mathews concluded, \u201cwhat came apart this morning was that theory.\u201d<\/p>\n Indeed. However, Mathews is among the President\u2019s \u201ccritics,\u201d \u201chis pursuers\u201d who has aggressively advanced the key \u201cassumption\u201d of the Big Lie.<\/p>\n President Trump shouldn\u2019t hold his breathe for an apology.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" On June 8, former FBI Director James Comey testified before Congress.
